Oct 13, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Gary Frost, an engineer with experience in utilities, chemicals and the paper industry, has been named the head of Georgia-Pacific's paper mill in Palatka, Palatka Daily News reported. Frost has worked since 2001 at GP's massive plant at Green Bay, Wis., and was operations manager when selected to lead the Palatka plant, spokesman Jeremy Alexander said. Frost is expected to assume his new post, vice president of Palatka operations, next week. "Gary is highly regarded and well respected at the Green Bay facility and will be a great leader and asset for Palatka as we solidify our infrastructure and vision," said Kevin Curry, who has served as interim mill manager since July. In a letter to employees on Friday, Curry said Frost was active in the Green Bay community and worked with youth. The Palatka GP mill employs 1,042 people who produce about 500 thousand tons of paper products a year.
