Interfor plans to restart operations at its Castlegar sawmill (which was acquired from Pope & Talbot, Inc. in 2008), company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. Interfor is expecting to hire approximately 80 to 85 employees. Steps are now being taken for a potential July start-up of the mill on a reduced operating basis, with the full expectation the mill will make a positive contribution to the company's results once it resumes operations.
