Klabin registers revenue of $1,1 billion in 2004
Feb 17, 2005. Klabin, largest integrated producer of packing paper in Brazil, has registered a Gross revenue of R$ 3,2 billion in 2004, equivalent to $1,1 billion. The net revenue of consolidated sales totaled R$ 2,7 billion, 15% more than last year. Exports were a highlight in the period, totaling 554 thousand tons, with a net revenue of $279 million, 30% higher (in dollars) than in 2003.

The net revenue of consolidated sales totaled R$ 2,7 billion, 15% more than last year. Exports were a highlight in the period, totaling 554 thousand tons, with a net revenue of $279 million, 30% higher (in dollars) than in 2003.
The registered gross profit was of R$1.3 billion, 15% above the profit verified last year. The net profit verified in 2004 was of R$ 456 million. The EBITDA (cash optional generation) reached, in the period, R$ 990 million, a 14% increase in relation to 2003.
The company achieve a Record in terms of paper production volume with 1.5 million tons, 6% above the figures registered in the previous year, and in the volume of industrial bag Sales, totaling 111 thousand tons, 8% more than in 2003. The volume of wood sales to third parties was also record, reaching 3.3 million tons, 39% higher than in 2003.
2004 Fourth Quarter
In the fourth quarter of 2004, the volume of paper and packing Sales was of 325 thousand tons, 7% higher than the same period last year. The domestic volume was responsible for 61% of the volume, reaching 197 thousand tons. The exported volume of papers and packaging in the quarter was of 128 thousand tons, 12 % higher than the same period in 2003. The export revenue was of $71 million, 33% higher, in dollars, to the fourth quarter of 2003.
The Gross profit of the fourth quarter last year added R$ 315 million, 30% higher than the one registered in the same period of 2003.
In 2005, Klabin will carry on focusing in the external market, even in a scenery of real valorization compared to dollar. Within the paper and packaging cartoon production capacity expansion plan from the current 1,5 million tons/year to 2 million tons/year, the company reiterates its purpose of expanding the participation of export revenues from the current 30% to 40%.
