Feb 27, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Komatsu America Corp. and its affiliate company Komatsu Forest LLC in North America announced plans to consolidate all Komatsu Forest operations in Shawano, Wisconsin into Komatsu America’s facilities in Tennessee, Illinois. Komatsu’s desire to effectively utilize resources is the driving force behind this integration, as the company informed Lesprom Network. Toshio Miyake CEO of Komatsu Forest, states “the aim is to have more efficient utilization of Komatsu group’s management resources taking advantages of the synergies between Construction machines and purpose built Tracked Feller-buncher, both in development and efficient production. This also gives us possibilities to utilize more common components between the two products.” Tom Sarin, President of Komatsu Forest LLC in North America, states “the products and dealer organization in N.A. will continue unchanged – only the place of manufacture and administration will change to utilize existing capacity in other Komatsu America facilities.” Komatsu Forest operations in North America are expected to be fully incorporated into Komatsu America by October, 2009. Komatsu Forest will remain as the forest business unit. Product line will remain and also Sales Distribution and Service outside N.A will remain as today.
