Nov 16, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Metso Paper will modernize the paper machine PM 6 finishing line at UPM's Kaipola mill in Jämsä, Finland. Start-up of the upgraded LWC paper finishing line is scheduled for August 2006. The value of the order is approximately Euro 9 million. The delivery will comprise rebuild of winders, new rewinder and new roll wrapping machine. The modernization of the finishing line will improve the quality of the customer rolls produced and will enable production of bigger rolls. The PM 6 has a wire width of 9.1 meters and a speed of 1 600 m/min. UPM's Kaipola mill operates three paper machines, which produce a total of 710 000 tonnes of LWC, directory paper and newsprint per year.
