Jun 29, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Moventas is to supply mechanical power transmission equipment for drum pulpers manufactured by Andritz. This is Moventas' largest single order for drum pulper ring gears. Start-up inspection services are also included. The deliveries are scheduled for 2010. The value of the order will not be disclosed, the company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The Moventas delivery covers 15 multisegmented ring gears, each with a 2-stage Santasalo® Dseries gear unit and auxiliary drive gear. The Moventas multisegmented ring gears are for Andritz customers in China and Korea where the drum pulpers will be used to produce the raw material for recycled paper and board manufacturing. Moventas developed the multisegmented ring gear concept with a ring composed of many individual segments, rather than two or four seen in traditional designs. The concept offers significant cost advantages in design, manufacturing, logistics, maintenance and replacement investments. Multisegmented ring gears are used in grinding mills, kilns, dryers and debarking drums in various industries including pulp and paper, mining and minerals, steel, sugar, cement and chemicals.
