Myllykoski to announce new plant, CzechRep in play--press

Finnish paper maker Myllykoski Corporation should announce its new plant this month instead of the originally planned second half of the year, the Czech Business Weekly (CBW) says in the latest issue. The candidates are the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The investment is worth Euro 450 million (Kc13.7 billion). The Czech Republic has offered lands in Opatovice nad Labem, East Bohemia.

The candidates are the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The investment is worth Euro 450 million (Kc13.7 billion). The Czech Republic has offered lands in Opatovice nad Labem, East Bohemia.
The plant should produce 400,000 tonnes of paper a year. It will create 250 jobs directly and another 1,000 indirectly. It should launch production in 2007.
Myllykoski Group has plants in Finland, Germany, Switzerland and the USA. It generated preliminary sales of Euro 1.45 billion in 2004.
