Representatives from Norampac Inc., division Vaudreuil, were recently awarded the Grand Prix quebecois de la qualite award by the prime minister of Quebec, Mr. Jean Charest. “The Grands Prix awards highlight the fact that many Quebec companies are taking real measures to position themselves amongst the best in the world and meeting the challenge to achieve prosperity”, declared the prime minister. The ceremony was held at the Palais des congres de Montreal where over 1,000 leaders, dignitaries and Quebec workers gathered within the framework of Evenement qualite, the largest gathering of its kind in North America. Norampac Inc., division Vaudreuil was also part of the Salon sur les meilleures pratiques d’affaires which related to the leadership it enforced on a daily basis and its management philosophy. Organized by the Mouvement quebecois de la qualite, the Grands Prix quebecois de la qualite recognizes, through an extensive selection and evaluation process, the excellence of participating companies in the areas of quality, continuous improvement, the entire management process as well as the remarkable results obtained. The jury evaluated the strengths of Norampac Inc., division Vaudreuil in: a management which transmits performance objectives, regularly meets employees and listens to their comments and suggestions, an orientation towards the well-being of the employees, a flexible work organisation which gives flexibility to customers, listening to customer requirements, respect for the environment, innovative techniques, product designs according to customers criteria, in a well structured and established system of continuing improvement.
