Pfleiderer's MDF plant in North Carolina starts up soon

Uniboard, a subsidiary of Pfleiderer AG recently had its particleboard plant in Moncure, North Carolina, certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Pfleiderer said the pressing line at Uniboard in Moncure, North Carolina is being wired and prepared for start-up. The new production line, which is designed to reach an annual capacity of 400 thousand cubic meters, is scheduled to go into operation in the autumn of this year, Pfleiderer AG reported.
Most of the foundation work for the MDF plant has now been completed. The production buildings have been erected; the buildings for finishing and for the shelf warehouse are under construction at present.
“Our new plant in Moncure will not only be the biggest and most cost-efficient MDF plant in North America. In order to supply the highest quality available, the production processes there have state-of-the-art technology,” stated James Hogg, CEO of Uniboard.
The Pfleiderer subsidiary Uniboard is one of the leading producers of engineered wood in North America. At its five sites, 1,600 employees produce an average of 1.6 million cubic meters of particleboard, medium-density fiberboard and high-density fiberboard each year.
