May 29, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. On May 29 Russian prime-minister will be with one-day business visit in Helsinki (Finland), Russian government press service reported. He will meet his Finnish counterpart Matti Vanhanen and Finnish president Tarja Halonen. The main subjects to discuss are the trade between two countries and its organization. In the sphere of forest industry Russia intends to fix once again its final decision concerning further development of this branch approved by the government. In particular, the source notes that decision about prohibitive tariffs on logs which will enter into the force in 2011 isn’t subject to discuss. At the same time Russia is loyal in the question of supplies of birch pulpwood to Finland. The decision making about the level of customs duties on this product is postponed till 2011. In this connection Russia expects that Finnish business will invest more in development of production facilities in Russia.
