Compared with January-September 2005, the sales of Vilniaus Baldai rose 3.7% in the first nine months of this year to reach LTL 81.3 million (Euro 23.6 million), ELTA reported. Yet in September the sales of the Lithuanian furniture manufacturer fell 16.6%down to LTL 8.9 million (Euro 2.6 million) if to compare with the same month in 2005. "The company is modern, yet its production volume does not match the possibilities," Nerijus Pacevicius, the CEO of Vilniaus Baldai, notes. "The need to restructure the management of the company, improve its work organization and increase performance is evident", the director added. According to him, the company plans to focus on the manufacture of furniture and refuse additional activities. Vilniaus Baldai is one of the first IKEA partners in Lithuania, which provides its production to the concern on the basis of the annual agreement.
