"While gift card sales continue to rise at a steady pace, gift card packaging has exploded as a product category,” said Eric Child, Seastone President.
During the 2007 holiday season, consumers are expected to spend $26.8 billion on gift cards according to the National Retail Federation. In addition, a 2007 survey by Comdata showed that 57% of consumers are more likely to purchase a gift card if it has specialty gift card packaging, and 47% of consumers are more likely to purchase a gift card if it comes in a tin1.
