In 2012, softwood sawlogs increased by 47 % and softwood pulpwood increased by 21 % compared to 2012.
Spruce sawlogs accounted for the largest increase. Imports of pine pulpwood increased by 20 % while imports of birch pulpwood decreased by 33 %.
Sweden’s roundwood imports increased by 8% in 2013
Imports of Sweden’s roundwood in 2013 amounted to 7.5 million m³ fub (cubic metre solid volume excluding bark), or 8% higher than in 2012. Imports of softwood sawlogs and softwood pulpwood was the highest in ten years.
