May 05, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Imports of Sweden’s roundwood in 2013 amounted to 7.5 million m³ fub (cubic metre solid volume excluding bark), or 8% higher than in 2012. Imports of softwood sawlogs and softwood pulpwood was the highest in ten years, as Swedish Forest Agency said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

In 2012, softwood sawlogs increased by 47 % and softwood pulpwood increased by 21 % compared to 2012.

Spruce sawlogs accounted for the largest increase. Imports of pine pulpwood increased by 20 % while imports of birch pulpwood decreased by 33 %.
