May 05, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Sodra is raising the price of bleached long fibre pulp by $40 to $690 per tonne. The raise is effective from 1 June.
“The pulp market has strengthened continuously during the year. Demand for both paper and pulp is good and pulp stocks are low both at producers and consumers”, says Ulf Edman, president of Sodra Cell International. “At the same time a noticeable reduction in production capacity is taking place”, Ulf Edman adds.
Sodra is a co-operative of over 35 000 private forest owners in southern Sweden. Together, their estates account for some two million hectares of productive forest land.
