Sep 22, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Vietnam is estimated to earn $70-75 million from exporting fine art wood products to Japan this year and between $170-220 million by 2010, said the Vietnam wood and forest produce association (WFPA). The same source said that Vietnam has emerged as the fourth biggest exporter of fine art wood products to the land of the rising sun after China, Taiwan, and Thailand. Trinh Vy, a WFPA expert, noted that Japanese consumers preferred Vietnamese wood products due to their unique material and skillfully designs. However, the association recommended enterprises invest in creating new products that bear Vietnamese characteristics and meet Japanese standard requirements in order to establish an even bigger foothold in the market.
