Kronostar (Kostroma region, Russia) obtained ISO 14001 environment security and OHSAS 18001 health and security management certificates, corporate public-affairs announced. The certification was carried out by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The certificates are required for hardboard, particleboard, laminated particleboard, MDF, laminated MDF production as well as for raw meterials acquisition.pculture, level of labor and environment protection, advanced industrial experience, improved labor conditions, high demands towards suppliers of raw materials – are just a part of obligations taken by Kronostar. Kronostar CEO Heinrich Kwanz said: ‘The environment and labor protection policies applied by Kronospan should become an example for all timber-processing enterprises in Russia. It is essential not only to obtain the certificates but to concentrate on a number of related projects’.
