commenced in April in Finland. As a result of
the statutory negotiations, Metsä Wood's personnel will decrease by 73 persons,
as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
The reductions will be implemented through pension arrangements,
redundancies and not renewing fixed-term contracts. The negotiations concerned
in total approximately 1,300 persons in Finland. Sawmills, sawn
timber upgrading units and their sales operations were excluded from the
proceedings.
