Oct 31, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. RusForest AB (publ) (“RusForest” or the “Company”), a Swedish forestry company with operations in Russia, announces preliminary third quarter 2012 production results, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network. RusForest increased harvesting of sawlogs by 97 percent from 131,806 cubic meters in the second quarter of 2012 to 259,063 cubic meters in the third quarter of 2012 due to seasonality and production improvement efforts. The Company increased production of sawnwood by 31 percent from 67,584 cubic meters in the second quarter of 2012 to 88,559 cubic meters in the third quarter of 2012 mainly due to a stable supply of raw material from harvesting operations. Transportation of sawlogs from harvesting operations in Russia is generally limited in April/May and September/October due to weather conditions and undeveloped road infrastructure in the forest. The log-hauling slowdown resulted in lower sawnwood production in the second quarter of 2012 and again in October 2012. RusForest’s third quarter 2012 production is not comparable to third quarter 2011 due to acquisitions and construction. Garrett Soden, the Company’s CEO, commented, “Our third quarter production showed significant improvement from the seasonal slowdown in the previous period. We continue to address our short-term liquidity challenges by seeking additional credit facilities, reducing costs and selling non-core assets.” RusForest expects to report third quarter financial results on November 30, 2012.
