U.S. printing-writing paper shipments increased 3% in August 2010 compared to August 2009, the American Forest & Paper Association said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. Two of the four major printing-writing grades posted increases compared to last August. U.S. purchases (shipments + imports – exports) of printing-writing papers increased slightly, up nearly 1% in August. Total printing-writing paper inventory levels increased 2% from July 2010. The American Forest & Paper Association is the national trade association of the forest products industry, representing pulp, paper, and wood products manufacturers, and forest landowners.
