Arauco’s Board of Directors decided to strengthen the higher structure of the company’s corporate management by creating the position of Executive Vice President, which will report directly to Arauco’s Board. Matías Domeyko Cassel, former CEO of Arauco, was designated to serve in this new position, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. The Executive Vice President will be mainly focused on the corporation’s strategic planning, its development and international expansion, on furthering the integration of the different businesses of the Arauco group, incorporating best international practices for corporate governance and generally strengthening the management and development of the company and its subsidiaries, as well as coordinating the fulfillment of guidelines established by the Board. The CEO will report to the Executive Vice President. In addition, the Board agreed to designate Cristián Infante Bilbao as new CEO. Until today, Mr. Infante served as Corporate Management and Development Director. He has broad experience in Arauco’s lines of business, and in past years he has served as head of subsidiaries in Argentina and Brazil and has had significant participation in the Montes del Plata pulp project in Uruguay. As of this date, Mr. Domeyko and Mr. Infante have assumed their respective positions.
