Borg Manufacturing is seeking to buy Oberon timber mill in Central West New South Wales and other associated assets owned by Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts Australia, ABC Online reported. The plant manufactures medium density fibreboard. Borg makes decorative panels and components used to build kitchens, laundries and furniture. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commision has announced it would not oppose the proposed acquisition. It says any merger would be unlikely to cause the foreclosure of downstream rivals by restricting the supply of raw MDF.
