A record installation and start up time of only 4.5 months was achieved by the Weihua and Dieffenbacher erection and commissioning teams when the first MDF board was produced on September 18, 2009 at the new Weihua Fengkai site in Guangdong province, China. This was the 100th Dieffenbacher CPS press line to come on stream worldwide, the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. Weihua Fengkai is the latest member company of the Chinese Weihua Group, which already operates a total of eight MDF/THDF lines in a number of Chinese provinces, including five Dieffenbacher CPS lines. Their main panel production capacity originated and still is located in Guangdong province, where the major Chinese furniture industry and panel consumers are located. However in recent years Weihua has invested in further greenfield continuous MDF / THDF plants in strategic locations in provinces further north such as Hubei and Hebei province with a view to being closer to the local markets. For the greenfield MDF plant in Fengkai City in the province of Guangdong, Dieffenbacher supplied the main plant package including the fibre preparation comprising the refiner, Dieffenbacher gluing system, dryer and fibre sifter. The resinated fibre then passes through the new generation forming system where a mat of high precision is laid down. The mat then enters the Dieffenbacher high pressure heavy duty prepress and CPS press. The CPS press has a width of 9 feet and a length of 38 metres and a designed board capacity of 250.000 cubic metres MDF/HDF per year. This latest plant has increased the yearly production output of high density and medium density fibre board of the Weihua Group to a total of 1,3 million cubic metres.
