Domtar will continue to remove machinery and equipment from the site and will take steps to engage the services of demolition contractors and file for a demolition permit, the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
The Prince Albert pulp and paper mill was permanently closed in the 1Q 2006 and has never been operated since. The dismantling of the paper machine and converting equipment was completed in 2008 and the dismantling of the remaining assets is expected to start in early 2010.
