Feb 28, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Investments in Leningrad region timber sector increased 28%. The main investments were concentrated in the construction of large production facilties. A number of lbig investment projects are underway in Leningrad region - for instance the modernization of Svetogorsky pulp and paper enterprise. The 2nd stage of modernization will require an additional $250 million of investments. Among the planned projects to be fulfilled on the enterprise, are the modernization of paper machines, environmental projects. Besides, Svetogorsky will build a storage place to store industrial waste in Leningrad region. The projects are aimed at the increase of timber procession, further reduction of round timber exports.
