May 23, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. John Deere Forestry, world leader in production of harvesting equipment, has opened on May 22, 2007 new branch office in Syktyvkar (Komi Republic, Russia). John Deere Forestry Oy marketing director, Europe and Russia, Timo Kyttala said during the press conference that the decision to open a branch office is concerned with the fact that “Komi is a very important territory from the viewpoint of forest fund”. According to him, 90 units of equipment from 1200 used in Russia have been already working in the republic. Furthermore, Timo Kyttala said that John Deere Forestry has large patrons in the region like Mondi Business Paper Syktyvkar LPC and Luzales. Total number of the company’s customers includes more than 20 enterprises in the republic and private loggers. The leadership of the company is developing the business through extension of the net of service centers, reduction of terms of supplies of spares and components and training of the cadre.
