Oct 16, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Mexico's leading paper products company, Kimberly-Clark de Mexico (Kimber), said its 3 Q net profit rose 6% from a year earlier, helped by price hikes and a better product mix, as Reuters agency informed Lesprom Network. Kimber said it earned 919 million pesos ($70 million) in the quarter ended in September, compared with 863 million pesos ($66 million) in the same period of 2008. "The slowdown in the world economy and particularly in the United States has caused a drop in raw material dollar prices. Although some of the decrease has been offset by the peso depreciation, the overall cost of some raw materials has decreased," Kimber said in a release. Quarterly sales rose 6% to 5.952 billion pesos ($454 million) while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) jumped 12% to 1.908 billion pesos ($146 million).
