Dec 01, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Kotkamills starts an about Euro 13 million two-phase investment programme to strengthen its position as the leading global supplier of overlaying films for plywood industry, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network. 

In the first phase the company invests in a new impregnation production line in its subsidiary, L.P. Pacific Films, in Malaysia. The new line will start up by the end of the year 2015.

In the second phase of the investment programme in 2016 the company will increase the production capacity of Imprex overlaying films in its mill in Kotka in Southern Finland. In addition to the capacity increase, the new line will also enable the expanding of the Imprex product range.

There are altogether about 90 persons working for the Imprex business area in Finland and Malaysia. The Imprex products are produced by converting the Absorbex paper which is produced in the company in Finland. The customers of the Imprex products are the plywood and the laminate industries.

Kotkamills is a forest industry company producing laminating and printing papers as well as wood products. The production lines of the company are located in Kotka and in Imatra in Finland and in Pasir Gudang in Malaysia.
