Jul 12, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Mondi has announced a price increase of Euro 40 per tonne for brown kraftliner and kraft-substitutes in the Mediterranean area, including Italy and Spain. The rise has been triggered by strong seasonal demand and supply restrictions following the bankruptcy of a major containerboard supplier. In view of ever increasing transportation costs, ex mill price levels remain unsatisfactory. Given the current extended lead times, Mondi has asked its customers to send order forecasts promptly, and indicated that further containerboard price increases are to be expected in other regions and for other grades. Mondi is an international paper and packaging group, with production operations across 28 countries. The Group's key operations are located in central Europe, Russia and South Africa.
