BHKP index (hardwood pulp) increased 9,3% (in USD) during the same period, the growth in EUR was 14,4%. According to Utilpulp European commodity pulp consumers’ group, pulp consumption in Western Europe in March reached its 12-month maximum. The consumers aim at replacing softwood pulp by cheaper hardwood pulp. Paper prices (in EUR) remained on the prior level since the beginning of the year, declined 5-10% in USD.
