May 31, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. TietoEnator, together with Ahlstrom Group, has delivered a mill information system to the Ahlstrom Louveira mill in Brazil. The system implementation and full integration to SAP was completed successfully in April. TietoEnator's and Ahlstrom's jointly developed Optimill mill system includes solutions for sales, production execution, and quality information management. It is formed by combining elements developed especially for Ahlstrom's needs with product modules from TietoEnator Integrated Paper Solution (TIPS). The system roll-out at Louveira mill is part of the information system harmonization process at Ahlstrom Corporation. The same Optimill system is already in use at 17 Ahlstrom mills worldwide. The harmonised system environment enables Ahlstrom to optimize and unify business processes globally. "The unique part about this roll-out project was that we simultaneously installed a supporting system for sales and production; we also took SAP in use for financials management. The systems were enhanced to meet the Brazilian market's special features and regulations, which was a result of an efficient global co-operation," says Jouko Jurvainen, VP information technology, Ahlstrom Corporation. "To us, it is important to be able to support well our global customers also in South America. The use of the common mill system at Louveira mill in Brazil is important for the mill organization and business management, especially in terms of more efficient customer service," tells Daniele Borlatto, VP Filtration, Europe & South America. "Brazil and other South American countries are interesting markets to us. The Ahlstrom Louveira system project is a great example of a successful harmonization process and an efficient global co-operation of all parties," says Sakari Ruotsalainen, SVP TietoEnator Forest.
