Jan 19, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Bulgaria's paper maker Trakia Papir registered a balance sheet profit of BGN 3.1 million ($1.8 million) in 2005, according to Dnevnik. Its 2005 profit stood at BGN 925 000 ($553 163). For the first nine months of 2005, Trakia Papir posted a non-consolidated profit of BGN 1.8 million ($1.1 million). On December 9, 2005, the Austrian corrugated cardboard maker Duropack and Austrian financial investor Schneider & Schneider Rechtsanwalte acquired a total 95.2% in Trakia Papir's capital for BGN 81.6 million ($48.8 million). On February 18, 2006, a general meeting of Trakia Papir shareholders will vote on changing the company name to Duropack- Trakia Papir. Trakia Papir, based in Pazardzik, southern Bulgaria, accounts for 70% of the country's paper trade market. It has around 680 employees and produces 55 000 metric tonnes of corrugated board base paper and 135 000 square meters of corrugated board annually.
