Sep 03, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. Western European fine paper shipments rose in July compared to the previous year, according to the CEPIFINE. Total coated woodfree shipments (inside and outside Western Europe) increased by 5.1% to 745,000 tonnes compared to July 2003. Shipments for the January-July period rose by 9.2% to 5.4 million tonnes. Shipments outside Western Europe shooting up by 7.5% to 216,000 tonnes. Domestic deliveries increased by 4.1% to 529,000 tonnes. In the uncoated woodfree sector, total shipments increased by 3.8% in July to 604,000 tonnes. Deliveries for the January-July period were also on the up, showing a 3.1% hike to 4.4 million tonnes. Shipments to Western Europe climbed by 4.5% in July to 492,000 tonnes, while those outside the region inched up by 0.9% to 112,000 tonnes.
