FunderMax expands compact-laminates capacities

FunderMax GmbH which belongs to Constantia Industries AG is further expanding production capacity for compact laminates at its Wiener Neudorf works, Euwid wood products and panels reported. Last year an investment was made in the general overhaul of a sheet press. Parallel to that, an investment programme was introduced, with which compact-laminates production was to be increased. Also last year, FunderMax replaced two existing waste-air purification systems with new ones at the Wiener Neudorf works. The Wiener Neudorf site is to concentrate in future on the production of compact laminates and HPL. In contrast, the manufacture of work surfaces and window sills will be transferred to a supplier. However, FunderMax will continue to market the products produced by third parties under its own name. Through a newly founded subsidiary, FunderMax will also set up a new compact-sheet production site in India by 2009.
