Hungarian forestry company Gemenci Erdo es Vadgazdasag Rt in Baja, southwestern Hungary, posted damages for 400 mln Hungarian forints ($1.7 mln/1.6 mln euro), due to the floods in 2002, it was reported on March 24, 2003. The company lost over 600 wild boars, 280 deer, and over 100 fawns as well as many of new plantations and technical buildings. The damages suffered by Hungarian forestry companies in 2002 total 2.2 bln forints ($9.5 mln/8.9 mln euro). [Editors' note: Gemenci Erdo es Vadgazdasag was established in 1993.
