Cohen, formerly division vice president - sales and marketing, industrial products division - North America, has been promoted to division vice president and general manager - global recovered paper, effective April 1, 2006, it was announced on March 13 by Jim C. Bowen, senior vice president, Sonoco. Mr. Cohen joined Sonoco in June 2003 as director of corporate and business development. He subsequently headed all sales, marketing, customer service and new product development initiatives for the Company's market-leading tube and core business. M. Cohen is a 1976 graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a B.S. degree in marketing. He began his career at Duracell Batteries, and held a myriad of leadership positions of increasing responsibility in sales, sales management, marketing, and product development during his 20-year career with Duracell, including vice president for worldwide sales for new products. Prior to joining Sonoco in 2003, Mr. Cohen served as chief marketing officer of Fleet Capital, a national commercial lender and division of FleetBoston Financial. "Myles possesses an in-depth knowledge of the consumer products goods (CPG), industrial and retail markets. His strong experience and skills will enable us to identify future growth opportunities and further enhance our success in the rapidly changing global recovered paper market," said Mr. Bowen.
