(Masisa), Santiago de Chile, continued to show the positive trend in turnover and results already achieved last year, Euwid wod products and panels reported. In comparison to the same period in 2007, the company achieved a rise in revenue of around 19 % to $257.6 million. According to Masisa, this sharp rise is mainly the result of higher prices for MDF and particleboard for sales to the furniture industry and to a recovery in lumber business. The increases achieved in these areas more than compensated for the declines in sales of mouldings resulting from the real estate crisis in the USA.
