Metso Paper relocates Charlotte, N.C., businesses to Atlanta
Effective October 15, 2001, all Charlotte-based businesses will have been relocated to other Metso Paper locations including Norcross (Atlanta), Georgia; Aiken, South Carolina; and Beloit, Wisconsin. Strategic pulp and paper business lines and resources to be consolidated in the Norcross office include papermaking lines, boardmaking lines, tissuemaking lines, chemical pulping lines, mechanical pulping lines and panelboard lines.
2001/0920, Press Release CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 20, 2001 (press release) -- Last March Metso Paper announced that its Charlotte, North Carolina facility would be permanently closed by the end of this year following a thorough review of the company's global manufacturing capacity.

Norcross will also serve as the main service center for the Southeast U.S. offering such after-market services as parts and consumables for all business lines, replacement rolls and shells, projects and process solutions, and agreements and mill services.
