Aug 08, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Mike Hokanson has been named general manager of Weyerhaeuser Company’s Rockford, Illinois, containerboard packaging facility. Mike Lackey, vice president of Weyerhaeuser’s North Central Region in Montgomery, Illinois, made the announcement. “Mike brings dedication and experience in several areas, and I am pleased he has accepted this position,” Mr. Lackey said. Hokanson began his new duties August 1. Previously, he was production manager at the company’s containerboard packaging facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. His career with Weyerhaeuser began in 2000 as a business analyst in the investment evaluation department. Prior to Weyerhaeuser, Hokanson worked in the oil refining industry. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Hokanson earned a chemical engineering degree in 1989 and later received his master’s from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University. He and his wife, Tracy, are relocating to the Rockford area with their daughter, Emily, and sons Tom and Matt. Weyerhaeuser Company, one of the world's largest integrated forest products companies, was incorporated in 1900. In 2004, sales were $22.7 billion. It has offices or operations in 19 countries, with customers worldwide. Weyerhaeuser is principally engaged in the growing and harvesting of timber; the manufacture, distribution and sale of forest products; and real estate construction, development and related activities.
