Nov 29, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. The new biofuel power plant of Pohjolan Voima has been inaugurated at UPM Rauma mill site. The power plant generates electricity and steam to UPM Rauma mill and electricity and district heating for Rauman Energia Oy. The Euro 75 million investment was a common project of UPM, Pohjolan Voima and Rauman Energia. The power plant's energy production capacity is 76 MW electricity, 140 MW process steam and 50 MW district heat. The power plant utilizes bark and forest residues - branches, tops and stumps - as main fuels and peat, biosludge and small amounts of recovered fuel as supplementary fuels.
