Apr 06, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Nippon Paper Industries restarts certain equipment at Nakoso Mill (Iwaki, Fukushima), among the plants that ceased all operations in the wake of the earthquake, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. The site of the mill was only slightly affected by the tsunami, and coating machines, the main equipment, have not suffered significant damage. However, a biomass boiler was damaged by the earthquake and stopped operating. Before the restoration of the biomass boiler, the mill started to operate spare diesel generators and is restarting a coating machine dedicated to thermal paper on April 5 after trial operation. The mill will restart the remaining three coating machines one by one by mid-April. The operation of the mill may be affected by difficulties procuring materials.
