The net loss of Polish personal hygiene products maker Hygienika SA increased to 874,000 Polish zloty ($270,000/210,000 Euro) for the first quarter of 2005 from 225,000 zloty ($69,500 Euro) net loss for the first quarter of 2004. The company reported a 480,000 zloty ($148,300/115,300 Euro) operating loss, compared to a 141,000 zloty ($43,600/33,900 Euro) operating profit. The sales revenue fell to 7.0 million zloty ($2.2 million/1.7 million Euro) from 12.1 million zloty ($3.7 million/2.9 million Euro). Hygienika, established as a limited liability company in 1992, was transformed into a joint stock company in 1995 and made a debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) in July 2004. Hygienika offers its products under own brands, including Bambino disposable baby diapers and Linell panty shields, and under the private labels of the largest retail networks operating in the Polish market.
