Portuguese pulp producer Caima - Industria de Celulose cut its stake in local tableware producer Vista Alegre Atlantis to 9.99% of the company's share capital, VAA said in a report to Portugal's national bourse regulator CMVM on January 10, 2006. The operation of the stake reduction was carried out on January 5, 2006. No financial details were available. Currently, Caima controls a total 5 393 544 shares of VAA. Caima is wholly-owned by Portuguese Altri, the industrial spin-off of local venture capital group Cofina. Altri announced on September 30, 2005 its plans to start a process for sale of the entire stake of 19.8% it controls in VAA. Altri holds the said stake of VAA's share capital through Caima. Consolidated net loss of VAA rose by 8.4% year-on-year to Euro 13 million for January to September 2005.
