Negotiations with Finnish prime-minister Matti Vanhanen in Helsinki are scheduled for the first day of his visit, government information department reported. On Tuesday, November,18 Mikhail Kasyanov will meet president of Finland Taria Haloneon and parliament speaker Paavo Lipponen. Mikhail Kasyanov will also visit Finnish sea navigation control center and will conduct a meeting with the country’s business elite. Kasyanov’s current visit to Finland will be the 4th in his career, though this is the first time he visits Helsinki. Mikhail Kasyanov will be accompanied by a delegation consisting of Russian transport minister Sergey Frank, Foreign affairs ministry, Science ministry and Energy ministry delegates, as well as Russian business elite -- top-managers of Norilsky nikel, RAO UESR and Timber merchants and exporters union; National timber-industry company, Russian bank of development and Vneshekonombank representatives. Russian-Finnish trade and political relations are presently on the rise, Russian delegation members said. Total trade turnover in 2003 was 4 billion 450 million euro, and according to the forecasts it will reach 7 billion euro by the end of the year. Russian exports to Finland include gas (provides for 100% of the country’s demands), oil (50%), coal (13%), electric power (10%), timber (10%).
