Russia’s Ilim Pulp considers building plant at Kotlas site
5. Russian Ilim Pulp considers building a timber processing plant, worth between Euro 60 million and 70 million, near Kotlas pulp and paper mill, Dmitry Chuiko, an Ilim Pulp representative said Friday.

Russian timber holding company Ilim Pulp considers building a timber processing plant, worth between Euro 60 million and 70 million, near and at the site of the Kotlass pulp and paper mill, Dmitry Chuiko, an Ilim Pulp representative said Friday. The timber processing plant's projected annual production capacity amounts to 230 000-250 000 cubic meters of lumber, he said. A final decision on the project will be made in 2006, he said.
Kotlass pulp and paper mill, a subsidiary of Ilim Pulp, is one the largest in Europe, and is based in the city of Koryazhma in the Arkhangelsk region.
Established in 1992, Ilim Pulp Enterprise is among the world’s 10 largest forest industry companies. Ilim Pulp’s companies and affiliates account for 60% of Russia’s pulp output and 85% of Russia’s cardboard packaging output.
