Södra acquires flooring manufacturer Föllinge Golv

The company is situated just north of Östersund, Sweden, employs six members of staff and produces around 40,000 square metres of solid wood flooring per year. Södra Interiör will be taking over on 1 January 2013, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
Södra Interiör has been producing solid wood flooring and parquet flooring for some time now, and this acquisition is part of Södra Interiör's strategic focus on flooring products. This acquisition will increase the range of products on offer to customers, to include exclusive conical flooring and flooring for halls and chambers supplied to Ulriksdals Slottsteater and Västeras Castle, among others.
"There are good opportunities for synergies between the companies in the fields of marketing, production, logistics and product development in both the short term and the long term," says Ulf Edman, President of Södra Interiör.
Föllinge Golv's flooring production takes place in Föllinge, some 70 kilometres north of Östersund. The company's annual turnover stands at around SEK 10 million ($1.5 million). The company is being sold by two private individuals, Sten Eriksson and Rikard Eriksson, and the companies Rödins Trävaru AB and AB Persson Invest. Sten Eriksson, whose father founded the company, has run it together with his son, Rikard, for a number of years. Rikard will continue to head the business.
