Oct 18, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Swedish-Finnish Stora Enso is expected to finalize the planning of a new paper mill for bleached eucalyptus pulp in Brazil, Veracel II, in a joint venture with Norwegian Brazilian Aracruz, Esmerk reported. The investment amounts to SEK 7.4 billion ($1.0 billion). As infrastructure etc already is in place the investment per tonne produced pulp will be lower than it was when building the Veracel I. According to Isac Zagury, CFO at Aracruz, the Veracel mill has the best cost situation in the world due to favourable climate etc. The formal decision will not be made until supply of pulpwood has been secured, according to Nils Grafström at Stora Enso.
