A delegation from the company, led by Mr Chris Becker, the Chief Executive Officer, held a closed door meeting with President John Evans Mills at the Castle, Osu, Friday June 5, 2009 to discuss investment opportunities in the timber industry in Ghana.
The company has said on its website that it establishes sustainable forestry plantations for timber, bioenergy, and where possible, carbon credits.
It also said that it is currently assessing sites in Ghana and the Ivory Coast totalling approximately 50,000 hectares.
Meanwhile, the company says it holds rights to 30,000 hectares in the department of Prikro in central Ivory Coast where a number of studies have already been carried out since 2007 and final assessment and boundary validation is under way before the final decision to establish operations is taken.
