Mar 19, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Perlen Papier of Switzerland is considering to build a new newsprint paper machine at its Perlen plant. The new PM is to have an annual capacity of 360 thousand tonnes and is to replace its PM5 (130 thousand tpy) which was built in 1971. Perlen said a final decision on the project would be taken in December this year. Perlen Papier was founded in 1872 and is one of the leading Swiss manufacturers for newsprint and telephone directory paper. Perlen's annual output reaches approximately 300 thousand metric tonnes of newsprint and magazine papers.
