Timber harvesting in Russia decreased by 2.8% in January-September 2013
The volume of timber harvest in Russia decreased by 2.8% year-over-year in January-September 2013, timber harvesting in September 2013 was up 0.7% compared to the same period in 2012.

Oct 31, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. The volume of timber harvest in Russia decreased by 2.8% year-over-year
in January-September 2013, timber harvesting in September 2013 was up 0.7%
compared to the same period in 2012, as Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat)
informed Lesprom Network.
Harvesting of softwood logs decreased by 3.1%year-over-year in first nine months of 2013, harvesting
of hardwood logs decreased by 0.5%, fuelwood harvesting decreased by 10.2% and untreated
wood decreased by 1.2%.
In September of 2013, softwood logs harvesting increased 0.3% to 5.6 million
cubic metres. Hardwood sawlog harvesting increased 3.9 % to 1.8 million cubic
metres in September 2013. Fuelwood harvesting down 7.6% to 1.2 million cubic
metres. Untreated wood increased 2.6% to 0.7 million cubic metres.
