Mar 31, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. UPM-Kymmene group member Nordland Papier in Dorpen, Germany has signed up Voith Paper to deliver machines and services for its PM 2 approach flow screening project. This is the first time Nordland Papier has selected proven screening technology from Voith, including C-bar screen baskets and MultiFoil rotors.
A two-stage screening system in the approach flow with an MSA MultiScreen in the stock feed to the headbox and a MiniSorter in the second stage will replace existing screening equipment.
The Voith supply will reduce stock pulsations on entry into the headbox and also avoid problems with depositing.
At the same time, Voith will replace the existing headbox pipework and take over responsibility for basic engineering, erection and start-up.
The new PM 2 approach flow screening project is scheduled to go on stream this summer. This subsystem - part of Voith’s Wet End Process concept - for upgrading PM 2’s approach flow will secure Nordland Papier a further increase in the quality of its woodfree paper products.
